Montreal - Quebec Sherbrooke via bicycle

here we go, I put my hand in the gears: I have three book train tickets one way from Quebec to Montreal. So it's official, my 2 daughters and I will do the Route Verte # 1 Montreal to Quebec through Sherbrooke.

My youngest (5 years) will actually attached to my bike while the oldest (almost 11 years) will obviously be alone on his bike. Last year, we made two "practices" by the Green Route # 6 Quebec Rivière-à-Pierre (2 days for return). Besides this topic, for those who would try this route, I recommend you sleep in a place simply wonderful: Heights Portneuf : it is strictly reserved for cyclists, it is in nature, there is a park for children, with a private lake various craft and choose to sleep in tents or huts with mattresses and wood stoves. In addition, they offer various "Chow Kit" which are essentially the basic ingredients to cook a meal (eg, spaghetti sauce, paste it comes to cooking, bread, dessert, butter, ground coffee) .

make such a trip with children obviously requires compromises. So rather that make the journey in 4-5 days, we will do at 10. This will be approximately 3-4 hours of cycling per day. I do not think it has the allure of "hard labor" for girls. Moreover, apart from two nights we spend with friends and family, I opted for luxury bed and breakfasts (B & B): it makes a meal plan at least a day!

will depart July 11, 2010 So. Departure from Quebec by train at 5:10 AM, arrival station of Montreal at 8:30 AM. Here's the itinerary:
  1. Montreal - Marieville: 48km (from Chambly, we leave the Green Route for Road Champs linking Chambly Granby much more direct (52 versus 65 km)
  2. Marieville Granby: Granby-44km
  3. Stukeley: 39km
  4. Stukeley Orford: 38km (125m difficult day because of elevation to go up and down)
  5. Orford-Sherbrooke: 46km
  6. Respite Sherbrooke: Sherbrooke 0km
  7. Richmond: Richmond 47km
  8. -Warwick: Warwick 39km
  9. -Lyster: 55km (false-flat downhill online right)
  10. Lyster, Quebec: 56km (even false-flat downhill)
So that's the game plan! If you have any questions (before or after the trip), please do! If, even better, you have advice for me, unsure even less!
