Attend one concert headlined by The National in the capital has not been easy for me.
Basically, Gorillaz was scheduled for 14 but was moved without any reason at 23, the day of The National. But I could not miss Gorillaz I had not seen so I had resold National. This is where the second Gorillaz Zenith Announces the 22, but I had planned to go see Goldfrapp. It was therefore necessary to buy a place for Zenith, I resell Goldfrapp, I bought a place for The National was nearly complete.
You do not follow? Does not matter, history was to write something.
Phosphorescent
The last time I saw Phosphorescent was to End Of The Road a wonderful festival where I had kept excellent memories of this group: Good atmosphere and just good on stage.
That night, Matthew Houck (the singer) was clearly ill at ease and not on stage. Suddenly, I could not find not the right mood they had on stage a few months ago.
is a pity because it really is a good group that deserves careful listening.
FYI, I chose their album in my top 50 albums !
The National
The National has indeed filled the Olympia, an upscale room for a group that has proven itself over the years, we can that New Yorkers deserve ample room in this play (unlike the TDCC, The XX, The Roux Florence & The Machine).
As I saw The National 4 times this year they have always left a great impression, I wanted to see what it looked like in the restaurant and especially to hear the songs they did not play in the festival.
A show of The National evaluates BAC Matt Berninger: as it is set in white wine, the better the show is doing. For example, Pukkelpop, around 18h on the Main Stage, Matt was sober and the concert was not really remarkable. When we see so
tumble seal champagne filled with ice, we can already say that this will be great!
He even ended up offering the rest of the bottle at the forefront, it's Matt who regia. Among
points (really) highlight of this concert: A great masters all the songs from High Violet (whose Sorrow that I heard for the first time), a great Available, definitely one of the songs essential live and a reminder epic
- Lucky You , my favorite song even more than I hoped they play. When I heard the first notes of guitar, I was a little overexcited (genus OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG )
- Mr. November where Matt is going to toy with the public (well we are accustomed Now, he did it every time)
- Terrible Love with a beautiful light show, which clung perfectly to the crescendo of the evening atmosphere. At that moment, the mood was at its height!
- And to finish off the evening: Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks ac-capella with the Olympia (and therefore without microphones), which closes beautifully High Purple but also the concert that night.
Here for once, I regret not myself struggled to attend this concert, a great concert!
